As dermatologists we are often confronted with patients with a non-healing leg ulcers. This may well be caused by venous insufficiency. In this podcast Audrey Meulendijks, author of "A systematic review on risk factors in developing a first-time Venous Leg Ulcer" is interviewed by EADV Education Committee member Bibi van Montfrans. Since risk factors for venous ulcers are also associated with lifestyle, we discuss the extent to which dermatologists should be engaged in lifestyle changes: a question that is relevant also for other dermatological diseases. In addition, the importance of providing more adequate information to our patients about the why and how of our treatments is underscored.

Prof. Soyer is the Inaugural Chair in Dermatology at the University of Queensland, Director of the Princess Alexandra Hospital Dermatology Department, and Project & QLD Lead of Australian Centre of Excellence in Melanoma Imaging and Diagnosis.
